Description

Commonly referred to as a Stagshorn or Elkhorn fern due to their unique antler shaped leaves.  Platycerium bifurcatum ‘Netherlands’ is an evergreen, epiphytic fern. Fronds are a beautiful grey-green with a slightly fuzzy texture and forked on the ends.  The base of the plant is covered with round to heart shaped, hard sheild leaves that turn brown with age.  Will grow upright in a pot or hanging basket or will perform well if mounted on a board/back plate (YouTube has several helpful videos). Incredibly attractive foliage plant.

Sun/Shade: Bright indirect sunlight. Water freely during the summer and sparingly in the winter.

Soil conditions: Well drained potting mix with peat, sphagnum moss or coir.

Hardy Winter protection: Tender, can be kept as a houseplant.
