Description
Commonly known as the red Abyssinian Banana, Maurelii has large exotic looking paddle shape leaves that will bring an instant tropical feel to your garden. The foliage is green and feathered with red on top with a dark crimson underside. Water well and feed regularly throughout the growing seasonand you will be surprised at the rate of growth. Can be grown in a pot but is also very happy in the ground.
Height and Spread: 3m x 2m
Sun/shade: Full sun or partial shade.
Soil Conditions: Humus rich, well drained soil.
Hardy/Winter protection: Winter protection required. Ours are lifted, potted and stored in a heated polytunnel throughout winter months. You can also lift and store dry for winter.
