Along with Hedychium densiflorum, H. spicatum is regarded as the hardiest Hedychium species in cultivation. Narrow glossy green foliage that has a slight reddish tinge on the underside of the leaves. Tall fragrant white flowers with an intensely golden orange throat. Very reliable ginger and is a consistent early flowerer.
